The United States of America has one of the most diverse populations in the world. Since the diversity is so great, there are many different religions one can follow. Due to this, public schools should not allow prayer in school. By allowing prayer in school, students will be forced to practice a religion, outside of their choice. The phrase, Almighty God is included in one of the prayers, professing a belief that atheists agnostics and other non-believers do not hold (Haas, 36). A student who does not believe in what is being recited to them is having religion forced upon them, plain and simple.
Historically, early childhood education focused on reading and writing. However, the research shows that young children's minds are receptive to math and logic. So public schools are adding Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM Education) to the lower grades.

An issue of importance is that charter schools who are attempting to fill in the gap left by public schools are receiving less funding then public schools. The USA is the country, in which every person has the right to choose their own religion and to live by its norms, and teachers at public schools cannot allow themselves to impose a single religion on students, each of who has particular religious (or non-religious) beliefs.
